Girls Camp:
Carissa Petersen: Carissa has her degree in Psychology and Counseling from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. She completed one semester at Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado Springs, CO. Carissa worked at Kanakuk Sports Kamp in Colorado. She worked for 3 summers for "I Believe in Me Ranch" doing Equine Therapy for handicap children. She is an expert rock climber and outdoor adventure enthusiast. Carissa grew up on an agricultural farm in Minden, NE, where she was able to have horses and participate in horse 4-H.
Jenni Toliver: Jenni is from Branson, MO. Jenni went to Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, MO. She is presently studying in College of the Ozarks in Hollister, MO, for her degree in Recreational Administration. Jenni has worked as a counselor at Kanakuk Sports Camp in Branson, MO. She has been on 8 short term mission trips. Jenni worked as a volunteer at a mission, tutoring junior high-high school ages. She is also an Equine Specialist.
Boys Camp:
Tim Haskell: Tim is from Kansas City. He went to Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, MO where he majored in Christian Ministry and Auto Mechanics. Tim played college basketball and soccer. (He was team captain in basketball.) He has worked with High School teens for several years. Tim also worked at Future Men, an alternative school for troubled teen boys. He worked at Inspiration Hills Bible Camp as a counselor. He went on several missions trips, including a trip to Czech Republic. Tim taught a character class to elementary kids for 3 years. He is a phenomenal athlete and an avid outdoorsman.
Eric Pallozzi: Eric is from Lawrenceville, GA. His major is Youth Ministries from Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, MO. Eric worked at Camp Nathaniel in KY trail-building. He played college basketball and is an avid outdoorsman.
Directors:
Paul Griffis: Paul has his degree in Intercultural Studies. He is EAGALA certified as an Equine Specialist; Equine Assisted Psychotherapy; Equine Assisted Growth and Learning. He completed Beery's Horse Training Course in 1975 and has been training horses for years. Paul has been a Youth Pastor, and has served as a Missionary in the Amazon Jungle of Venezuela and Brazil for 27 years. He is a Linguist and speaks 6 languages. Paul has coached varsity basketball and varsity football. Paul has been effectively counseling both young people and adults for more than 30 years.
Velma Griffis: Velma has been a missionary in the Amazon Jungle of Venezuela and Brazil. She has her degree in Intercultural Studies. Velma is an expert in outdoor living, with years of experience in jungle survival and cooking in the outdoors. Both Velma and Paul have had years of medical experience, working with the Yanomamo Indians of Venezuela and Brazil.
